Designing gardens & landscapes with disability in mind, now we get it.

We’ve designed sensory gardens and landscapes for people who have problems with access. We even have an ex National Health wheelchair, gathering dust in a lockup, which we used to use to test surfaces for access issues….

The Nature of Aging – A phrase that all garden designers and landscape architects should know and REALLY understand.

So we thought we knew all about designing spaces with disability in mind, until we came across this phrase quoted by Dmitri Belser when talking about The Ed Roberts Campus @ Berkeley quoted as “the most accessible building in the world”.

“the most accessible building in the world”

“…disabled is the one minority group nearly everyone gets to join.” Belser added, referring the nature of aging.
