Central Government Policies & the Impact on Businesses

Ozzy beat us to it, in the ranting stakes this month…

If you don’t run a business in the UK this short diatribe might help you to understand some of the “behind the scenes in business” activities.

I’m very “British”. I know I am and sometimes it’s a serious failing of mine. I’m too polite to complain when the food in the restaurant is not up to scratch, and when our government screws us business owners I bend over and take it right up the backside like thousands of others in the UK…

…and this is before actually doing any real work.

Yep, but it’s not just people in business. Anyone who works, is increasingly been forced to take on more and more needless bureaucratic twaddle before you can actually do your job. I finally gave up lecturing (part time) in 2006 a job I used to believe in passionately because I wasn’t lecturing I was pushing paper. And now I push even more paper but at least I can control some elements in this respect!

Not sure about “levy on the VAT returns to cover the costs we incure…” because that would then mean we would be hit by yet more governmental administration, that could then be subverted into yet further paperwork or back door taxes. A simple % cut in corp tax would work for me.
